Samuel Cameron, President

Samuel Cameron has been contributing to the look and design of Seattle’s business and residential communities for over 40 years as a leading commercial and residential architect. His work in the greater Puget Sound region has covered a broad spectrum of projects in the categories of commercial, educational, municipal, and mixed use residential and institutional projects. He has served as the chair of the SE Design Review Board for the City of Seattle, a community representative on the Virginia Mason Citizen’s Advisory Council and as a member of the American Institute of Architects. Sam holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Washington.

Mary A Cunningham Hopkins

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary moved to Seattle in 1979 and began working with the Seattle Public Schools school system. After attending City University majoring in Legal Administration, Mary served with King County Elections, the Medical Examiner’s Office and the Superior Court until her retirement in 2014.  Mary has been married for 36 years and is the mother of two children and grandmother to three.  An active member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Mary has served as a member of the church’s Board of Trustees and President of the Women’s Ministry. An active member of the National Council of Negro Women, she is a past president and secretary of that organization. She has devoted her life to making the Seattle a better community for all people.

Carol Bell

My relationship with God is the guiding force in my life.I hold Bachelor of Arts in Society & Justice and an Executive Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Washington. Over my career, I have collaboratively developed engagement strategies which foster long-term relationships with the community and key stakeholders. I have demonstrated an ability to lead
organizations through Culture Shifts and change management including building trusted relationships and facilitating conversations amongst groups with competing interest identifying common goals, objectives and workable solutions.My civic and volunteer experience includes, Washington Rhinestone Club, Mount Zion Finance Board member and Sunday school teacher, Mount Zion Housing Board member, NW African American Museum (founding member) Blacks in Government andlota Phi Lambada Business and Professional Woman Honoree.

Olivier Mabiala

Olivier is a community‑minded designer and project coordinator whose work bridges architecture, culture, and social impact. Raised in Brazzaville and now based in Seattle, he brings a global lens to questions of housing, equity, and belonging. His professional experience in sustainable architecture and his artistic practice both reflect a deep commitment to storytelling, heritage, and community resilience. Having lived across three continents, he brings a global understanding of community, resilience, and the ways people build home in different cultural contexts. Joining Mount Zion Housing Development allows Olivier to contribute his skills to a mission he believes in: creating dignified, accessible housing that supports families and strengthens the broader community
